My Births

I had my first baby in 2016, a girl. I was 41 weeks and my water broke, I hadn't really thought much about the birth, having attended all my appointments and antenatal classes with no issues I assumed I would have a vaginal birth and didn't really give caesarean a second thought. My labour was very traumatic

  • Over 30 hours of labour

  • Failed epidural (I thought I was going to die)

  • Unkind medical staff

  • Prolonged hospital stay

  • Inappropriate behaviour by a midwife with my daughter

The list really does go on...

I experienced difficulty bonding with my baby, I had repeated infections in my C Section scar. It took me quite some time to feel mobile again and like I had my mind and body back.

Knowing we wanted a second child we decided to go ahead. It was very much a grit my teeth and just pray I come out alive decision, from a place a fear and just really wanting my daughter to have a sibling. I was told I had "an emergency c section" for my first birth (with hindsight and knowledge I know it wasn't an emergency, it was a caesarean for hospital convenience). I was told it was best I plan to have another C Section and not consider a vaginal birth. I had a planned C Section with my second baby in 2018, a boy.

As I knew what was going to happen during the procedure, I didn't think I needed to plan or think much about the birth. To my surprise, I had a panic attack on the surgeons table during my planned C Section, to which the anaesthetist sternly said "Divina, you need to calm down otherwise we won't be able to cut your baby out". It was very distressing and traumatic. I then had another difficult postpartum recovery.

I felt very much done with having children after these two experiences. however the universe had other plans for me. I became pregnant again in 2021. I was 42 weeks and 2 days when my waters broke and my third child, a boy was born via C Section.

This is where my passion for helping mothers and their families was born.

The mainstream system do not support women after traumatic childbirth. This leads to

  • Physical and mental health issues.

  • Feelings of shame, guilt and self doubt

I trained as a Hypnotherapist, Neuro Linguistic Practitioner, a Therapeutic Women's Coach & Doula to support women in all areas of mind and body recovery.

Women deserve to live the life they dream of in motherhood, while raising the next generation.

Let's do it together.
